"I Miss the Quiet" is a 2024 fansong created for the creepypasta Sonic.exe, specifically one of its current iterations under the Soulless Sonic series. The song follows Lord X, an old and decaying version of the original character, reminiscing on its time on Earth while also missing its life before it was forced out of the void.
The song was sung and primarily composed by Churgney Gurgney, and was co-produced by Marley Jauz.
Lyrics[]
Would you dare look over your shoulder?
Do you fear what's coming 'round the bend?
Do you know what comes while you're growing older?
Would you ever turn your back again?
Does it stop your heart?
Does your hair turn grayer?
Let me tell you know
It's gonna be okay baby
I miss the quiet
I can't deny it
Am I to fight it?
'Cause even after all is said and done
I only wanna stay
The endless void couldn't fathom
The fate I wished upon a star
In your vessels, all so very unbecoming
I'll turn you all into a martyr
When you're brought to your knees
And there's nowhere to run
Just let me tell you, baby
Here it comes now
I miss the quiet
I can't deny it
Am I to fight it?
Or be delighted?
I miss the quiet, yes I do
I miss the quiet, I know it's true, oh baby
I miss the quiet
'Cause even after all is said and done
We've only just begun
(No, no, no, no, no)
I miss the quiet (No)
I can't deny it (No)
Am I to fight it? (No)
Or be delighted? (No)
I miss the quiet (No)
I can't deny it (No)
Am I to fight it? (No)
Or be delighted? (No)
(No, no, no, no, no)
I miss the quiet, yes I do (No)
I miss the quiet, you know it's true, oh baby (No)
I miss the quiet little things I'd do before I (No)
Entered all the violence, defining silver lining (No)
I miss the quiet (No)
I can't deny it, I know it's true, oh baby (No)
I miss the quiet (No)
But even after all is said and done (No)
I'm only having fun
I'm only having fun
I'm only having fun
I'm only having fun
Other Appearances[]
- The song was released as a single to tease the then-upcoming album Sinister Minds, which it was later rereleased as a part of.
- Both the instrumental and vocal tracks were released separately on Churgney Gurgney's YouTube channel.
- In the Friday Night Funkin’ mod VS Rewrite Round 2, Rewrite will transform into Majin Sonic, 2011x, and of course Lord X. During Lord X’s appearance you’ll see Lord X with a white hat with a black stripe wrapping around the top of the hat, right above the brim. The hat is a direct reference to the song, where he is shown wearing the same exact hat.

Trivia[]
- (Repeated from Other Appearances) In the Friday Night Funkin’ mod VS Rewrite Round 2, Rewrite will transform into Majin Sonic, 2011x, and of course Lord X. During Lord X’s appearance you’ll see Lord X with a white hat with a black stripe wrapping around the top of the hat, right above the brim. The hat is a direct reference to the song, where he is shown wearing the same exact hat.
- The song is directly named after a quote from Lord X in the original Sonic: PC Port, a game originally created for the Luigikid Creepypasta Challenge. Around halfway through the game, the player can find images of Lord X's face, and touching one will allow Lord X to talk about its past in the void.
- On most platforms where the song is released, Jauz is credited as "Marley 'Brokeback' 'duccly' Jauz". This was done back when Marley Jauz still went by "duccly", and before the name of all of his accounts was changed to his current name.
- On the song's upload to Pandora, a "Kalani Lane" was credited as a composer and lyricist. Given how they're not credited on any other upload, it's likely that "Kalani Lane" is a pseudonym for Gurgney.
- The only official upload of the song not done by Churgney Gurgney is on SoundCloud, where Marley's account is used instead. Gurgney is credited as "Churgney 'Fat' 'Bald' 'Rotund Bastard' Gurgney" on this upload.
