Lyrics[]
Into each one of our lives
Came the doll with button eyes
And the shiny button eyes
Were the spying eyes of the Beldam
And they told her we weren't happy
[Oh but we were happy, happy as birds.]
One by one she caught us all
We were tricked and trapped and spoiled
By the things we asked her for
Even still we wanted more
So we said we'd wear the buttons
And then we were hers forever
We had to pay back all the love she said she gave
So she swallowed up our lives
Then when we were nothing
But these pale empty shells
She locked us all away
And forgot we were ever here at all
