"Every Time We Say Goodbye", also known as "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye" is a popular 1944 jazz song written by the late Cole Porter and first performed by the late Nan Wynn. It was later used in the season one episode "Krusty Gets Busted" of the animated television series The Simpsons, performed by Sideshow Bob's after he frames Krusty the Clown for a robbery.

The Simpsons version was performed by Bob's voice actor Kelsey Grammer.

Lyrics

Every time we say goodbye,
I die a little,

Every time we say goodbye,
I wonder why a little,

Every time we say goodbye,
Goodbye.
